Pre-conference symposium
Symposium on Advancing Bioprocessing and Bioproduct Innovation for a Circular Bioeconomy
South Dakota State University’s Department of Biology and Microbiology will host a one-day symposium on October 8, 2026, at Dakota BioWorx in Brookings, South Dakota. The symposium will bring together academic researchers, industry professionals, and students to discuss advances in microbial bioprocessing, sustainable bioproducts, circular bioeconomy, technoeconomic analysis (TEA), lifecycle assessment (LCA), and workforce development. The program will feature invited talks, panel discussions, student poster presentations, industry site visits, and commercialization and career discussions. Student Travel Awards: Up to 10 travel awards of $250 each will be available to student poster presenters whose research is related to the symposium themes.
